~about the Gala Nocturna~

Thema der diesjährigen Gala war „The Virgin Queen – an Ode to the Elizabethan Era“.

It’s been a while (exactly it’s been two and a half month) since I visited the GalaNocturna, but I still want to show you some pictures.

This year’s theme was “The Virgin Queen – an Ode to the Elizabethan Era”, so I decided to wear a Renaissance robe. Because of lack of time and fabric I used my old blue bed cloth and for the “apron” I could use the rest of a failed Rococo robe.

Again my best friend Fauryn fitted at least in colour (her outfit is more Rococo-like ^^)

And also the other family members look just stunning! You can find their pictures at my animexx-gallery (I don't want to post so many photos in one entry^^)

And why do I write about this in a blog about Steampunk and Lolita? Well, of cause both styles were also represented at the Gala but what is more important: both take their inspiration out of the history. Especially Lolita often uses different elements from barock and rococo fashion. That’s why I think we should know at least a little bit about the background of our fashion. In addition to that I’m also influenced by my passion of sewing and my historical dancing classes^^

More and of cause the better photos were taken by Viona that evening. For example this "family portrait".

Her pictures of the evening can be found here.

Now I'm waiting for the summer ball Sarabande.
